Trey Zagante is Founder and Managing Partner of the Venturetec Group, an Asia Pacific-based investment and advisory firm. Venturetec takes a unique, high-volume and industrialised approach to investing, and invests exclusively in early-stage enterprise technology startups across the Asia Pacific region.
He is an experienced strategy and technology consulting executive, and has managed major consulting engagements including the core banking roll-out for Commonwealth Bank of Australia in Shanghai. Most recently, Trey was a founding partner of VanceInfo Technologies Australia; acquired by a China-based, NASDAQ-listed technology services company (now part of the Blackstone Group). Previously, Trey was a Senior Consultant at Halifax Bank of Scotland's consulting unit in Australia. He is a thought leader on corporate innovation, corporate venturing and corporate-startup collaboration; he regularly advises corporates on enterprise innovation strategy, innovation management, enterprise lean startup adoption, and corporate venture capital. Trey is actively involved in the startup and venture capital ecosystems in Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore; and is a member of the Australian Government’s expert network for accelerating commercialisation. He holds an Executive MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.
