David Lee is Practice Professor of Quantitative Finance and Director of the Sim Kee Boon Institute for Financial Economics (SKBI) at the Singapore Management University (SMU), where he is also Director of the Global Master of Finance. Besides that he is also Vice President of the Economic Society of Singapore. He was Fulbright Scholar at Stanford University Sep-Dec 2015.
He founded Ferrell Asset Management in 1999 and graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science with a PhD in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics. He was the Group Managing Director of OUE Limited and Auric Pacific Limited, as well as the Non-Executive Chairman of MAP Technology Limited. David is an Independent Director of two SGX-listed companies. He sits on the Investment Committee and Council of two charitable organizations. He was the first hedge fund manager in Singapore and was a pioneer in private Real Estate Investment Trust. He is also a real estate developer. His latest books and research are on Digital Currency, Financial Innovation, Asset Allocation and Asia Finance.
